Bespoke sewing service

After the success of many dresses and soft furnishings, I am now happy to offer a bespoke sewing service.

Asked to be a bridesmaid and don't want to look like Little Bo Peep? Attending a ball and can not find anything to wear? Got a dress that fits like a glove but it's worn out and can not buy one that style anymore? Got a dress thats dated and in need of a revamp? or simply in need of some new soft furnishings?

I am pleased to offer a bespoke sewing service.

I differ from a standard alterations or dressmaker as not only can I design a garment from scratch to fit the individual, I can design the fabric it can be made in too. However that is the top of the line service, I also undertake simple dressmaking or curtain making requests too.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at Laurelhousedresses@gmail.com should you wish to discuss any ideas you may have

Poppy dress makes debute at End of Year Show

On Wednesday, 15th June, after months of hard work, my FMP gown was finally unveiled at the uni end of year show.
Setting up

Unfortunately, as one of my other designs was being modelled on the catwalk by my gorgeous girl, this is the only time I got to stand with my work which means I could not hear any feedback from the dress

The dress is based on a 1940's fashion illustration and the centre panel I created in CAD using a background from a collection of acrylic, quink and bleach art works I painted then merging in iconic images from World War 2 finally adding with my hand painted watercolours of Poppies and photographs of tanks and barbed wire. The final design was then digitally printed coutesy of The Silk Bureau onto Habotai Silk

Also loving the flutterby stained glass films

Sick of the lack of privacy in one of your windows? I love this as an alternative to keeping blings closed. This means that you can have privacy on the lower glass panes and still let the light in with the top ones

what i am loving....

I am loving the surface view's National Gallery Collection of wall murials. With iconic photographs of grand central station, flower studies or the classics, there is a range of wall mural to suit everyone. This option im sure is cheaper than getting an artist to paint your wall and just as expensive as some wall papers
Now ive just to pursuade the husband....
